About Blaze

This is me and my husband currently.  It took us literally 29 tries in Photo Booth to take a normal picture of us not laughing our heads off.  That’s the key to good photography by the way – just take one million shots.  It’s totally a numbers game.This is us circa 1990.  We were into Sesame Street, and the Little Mermaid.  No joke, we both had Arial Barbies, and one of us had Little Mermaid sheets (Psst! It’s not who you’re thinking).  Despite this critical foundation for a relationship, we didn’t know each other back then, which I praise God for – I would have kissed him, and he would have run away.

This is us in our tweens – well, teens if you want accuracy.  We met in our church’s youth group in 8th grade, became best friends, and fell in deep like.  This photo was taken a two months after our first date, and was our first picture taken as a couple.  Can you tell? :)  Ha!

We continued dating through high school and survived four long years long distance in college…

…And got married one week after school ended!  I chose this picture because it was the happiest I’ve ever been – I couldn’t believe I got to marry my best friend.

We are currently living in Seattle, Washington with our dog, Gracie, who wants breakfast promptly at 6:00am 5:30am every morning, and is velcroed to my side (I call her my painter buddy).  She is also very fast and likes to show off for company.  And other dogs.

…and our kitty, Gwen.  Her middle name changes daily, but my favorites are  Mango, Pancake, Swiffer, Goob, Tiger, Whitey, Gwhitey, and American Idol.  She sleeps literally 21 hours a day (in a cupboard at night!) and plots her escape or eats my houseplants in her waking hours.

We live in a little house, eat good food, ride our bikes, go on lots of long walks, and are figuring out how to be a better artist and a better musician.  We have a lot of fun.
