Some colorful shells in the shop today. I’ve always been a shell collector; I have little broken pieces and large tropical ones all over my house. My house is adorned with plants, shells, and driftwood – all bringing the outside in, and reminding me of the places that make me happy.
These drawings were the first pieces I made of my Light & Color series, but I’ve been saving them for a sunny day. It actually fits nicely with this week, as my birthday is tomorrow and I’ve been thinking a lot lately of hermit crabs finding larger shells to fit in as they grow. I’ve also recently re-potted many of my house plants since they’ve been thriving well. It seems like a new chapter is upon me.
I’m turning 25 tomorrow, and though I know I am still young, I feel as though I were a small hermit crab newly moved into a large shell. There’s room to grow, but I’m not sure how it will fit on me. What will this year have in store for me? What was your 25th year like?
In the shop here.

I just love the way you use pastel colors Blaze! These are so pretty!
And thank you for all the sweet comments you’ve been leaving me lately. They make me smile every time.
:)
Thank you Amy! And of course! Your blog is so cheerful and lovely!
Oh, how nice, your birthday is tomorrow! I hope you have a lovely day! Beautiful shells.
I, too, love shells–and these are lovely. When I was 25, I was teaching writing at Oral Roberts Univeristy. Happy birthday, my friend!
Hugs,
Kathy

The shells are very pretty and I hope you have a wonderful birthday. Right before I turned 25 I moved into my first apartment alone and started dating my husband. I worked at a photo archive with old prints that still smelled of the chemicals and I loved the history and glamour of working with early Hollywoid and studying the fashions. I explored Brooklyn as that is where Mick decided to move and we had so much fun.
Hope it is full of beauty for you

I love these shells!! Reminds me so much of my childhood. We live by the seashore and I used to go to the sea and get shells with fellow kids everyday! Oh, memories. <3
