The Smell of the Sound

I came across these lovely photos and found a little slice of home.  I get to see the pretty sights of the Puget Sound quite often and am so happy we live near water.  The smell of the beach or sounds of ferry horns sometimes reach us in unexpected places, and it always brings a smile to my face.

Many of our first dates were on and across the Edmonds ferry, and Jameson even proposed to me on one of our adventures.  I’m looking forward to more summer trips – sometimes we get to see whales if we’re lucky!

Do you live near water?  What’s your “beach?” When we lived in Denver, my “beach” was the lake in our neighborhood park!

  1. Such a pretty scene.
I wish i had a lake in my backyard! hehe
Hope you have a wonderful weekend and many more adventures to come~!

  2. Gosh, I wish I lived near a beach. As a child I spent lots of time on Miami Beach, and it was glorious. Puget Sound is lovely, as well.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
    Hugs,
    Kathy

  3. How incredible are the senses! Thanks Blaze! Deb

  4. Alas, I live nowhere near the sea, but I adore the salty smell of sea air.

    Happy weekend!

  5. Ahh, I love these. I used to live in The Hague (a city in the Netherlands) for a year quite some time ago, and there’s a wonderful beach at the North Sea there. I used to come there quite some time.

Also, at my parents place, somewhere up north in the Netherlands, they live very close to a small lake, and that’s where I usually spend my summers when I’m not out and about.

I find it amazing, the sloshing water at the ‘shore’.

  6. These are really lovely.

  7. I live in Rio, so I have a lot of beaches near me. It’s amazing, I love it!

  8. While in college I most often went to the San Gabriel River when I wanted to be near wild waters. It’s interesting the draw water has–reminds me of the wonderful first chapter of Moby-Dick.
