The Crawfish Boil

This weekend we went to our very first crawfish boil!  Our good friends, Brett and Julie are moving to Texas and wanted to throw one last party with all of our friends.  What a fantastic and delicious evening!  We gave our folk band-style a twist, and played Louisiana songs through the evening while the crawfish boiled and steamed.  It was some serious fun, and I’m going to miss these people terribly!

Remember this evening?  Most all of the same friends (and some new ones!) came to the same backyard to kick off the summer!  It’s fun to look back at the old photos and see how the little ones have grown up, and how families are growing with lots of new babies. :)

The consensus amongst everyone was the crawfish were deliciously spicy and filling!  Only some of the kids were sad about the end fate of their new “friends.” :(  I’m sure there were some live ones crawling around the yard after everyone left!

P.S. Remember this day when we caught our own crawdads?  I’m sure those park crawdads wouldn’t have tasted nearly as good as fresh-flown-in Louisiana crawdads!  YUM!
