A month ago, I got commissioned to create a piece of art out of old and unwanted video game cartridges (think lots of Mary-Kate and Ashley Pocket Planners, and copious amounts of Madden 1996 games). JJ Games dreamed up the task of creating a 3D Samus Aran from the Nintendo game Metroid. 179 game cartridges later, and a few tubes of acrylic paint, she turned out just about five feet tall. I had a blast being creative with different materials and definitely used some of my former lego building skills. Thank you JJ Games for the commission and for supporting the arts!
(Check out mentioning of the project here, here and here)

I am not a big ‘gamer’ so I’m not sure what that is…but when I first saw it, Apolo Ohno popped into my head! Looks like a speed skater! :)
