Fall is almost here, I can feel it creeping in. Last night, the air was the coldest I’ve felt it since April, and it felt nice to snuggle up. This whole summer, we’ve slept with the windows wide open and the sounds of crickets have lulled us to sleep. In the mornings I’ve woken to sunshine on my face and the smell of warm and early campground air. I don’t think I am quite ready for turning a lamp on when I wake up, but to celebrate the change in season, I bought myself a scarf this weekend. I’m looking forward to wearing my knee high socks and boots, and having the electric blanket back on the bed!
This last week I got myself into a routine and started painting daily. It has felt so good to have my brushes in my hands again. My mom sent some gorgeous books for inspiration, and I am having some wonderful and quiet afternoons adjusting my color palettes and creating new narratives. I’m working on number 15 on my list, and I hope to have my fall show in November. I’ll post one of my recent paintings tomorrow.
I welcome the routine and the change in season. Jameson starts school this week and has an audition this afternoon. Please pray for him. It is hard to believe that summer is almost gone, and days spent sitting on the grass in the park are coming to a temporary end. I took this picture about a month ago while reading in the park… a few young girls were on the other side of these bushes whispering about real live fairies. I couldn’t help but snap these photos in hopes of remembering such sweet conversations.
You need to ditch the electric blanket and pile on the quilts, girlie! Please post pictures of your in-house art show for those of us not near! ppppssstt: me thinks you may have caught a faery on film!
No need to worry! We will have one quilt, one electric blanket, one down duvet comforter, and flannel sheets! Oh and socks! Haha! We’re wusses. :)
p.s. I will post pictures!
p.p.s. I think so too!
